Tree-Track
PRODUCTION CONTROL
SYSTEM
The figure below illustrates the
Hardware structure of the system composed essentially of 4 main levels:
• Corporate office
• Data archiving and processing • Data acquisition, process
control • In-field automation
Tree Prod is the main module of the system; through a
simple user interface, it manages and integrates all the functions of the single
modules, as well as managing database consultation, while integrating it with a
DBMS MS SQL-server.
This module makes it possible to represent the production
phases using a tree graph.

Users
administration
This module enables vertical control
over the three upper levels of the system architecture: corporate office, data
archiving and processing, process data acquisition. The module makes it
possible to check actions through a matrix structure that defines a series of
controls related to: • Access terminal • Reference zone
• Requested function • User
Production
Reporting
In many cases, when a given amount of
product undergoes a process, a production report is filled out. The module,
which is presented in this paragraph, makes it possible to manage production
reporting, both as external objects (e.g. text files, office files, reading from
database) and as internal objects thus enabling the user to input data directly
through input screens, excel tables, etc. using a browser. Where possible,
production reports are filled out automatically by the system itself as soon as
data is received. Thus it takes place in steps as the data become available.

Quality
By
managing process-related data (e.g. fermentation trends, pasteurization
parameters, results of chemical analyses performed on the product, etc.), the
quality module makes it possible to attribute “quality” parameters; these
parameters can be associated with the product either automatically, if possible,
or manually. Through this module, at each phase of production, it is
possible consult the trend in temperature and pressure, view the results of
chemical analyses performed on batches stored in the extraction section (if
integrated with the traceability module, this result makes it possible to view
the lots that comprise each batch and the analyses performed on them).

DownTime
Module
The DownTime module makes it possible to run an in-depth
analysis of all pertinent data through the alarms and commands module. In
fact, knowing some of the basic information such as:
• Alarm/command start time • Alarm recognition time
• Alarm end time • Alarm priority • Alarm group
• Department-zone involved • Related production
• Resources used for a particular production stage • Any
production awaiting release of some necessary resources
It is possible, using some specific procedures, to present the
following information in graphic form:
• Alarm frequency • Failure prevention
• Analysis of production delays

Tracking
The production tree offers simple,
functional production traceability, promptly displaying all phases, departments,
machinery and material unions. The traceability module integrates the
production module, thus making it possible to follow an individual material lot
(e.g. a lot of goods stored in the various raw material storage silos)
throughout its entire passage through the various plant sections. For each
individual “cell” (e.g. for each material container), it is immediately possible
to query the system regarding the content, broken down into the various lots
that make up the batch, presented both in the form of a table and in various pie
charts. For each lot it is possible to obtain all pertinent data (supplier,
quantity received, etc.). For each production batch it is possible to
display all the lots used in the batch, trace any one of them and display the
composition broken down in graphic form.
